Buying Custom Sofas & Chaise — Common Questions
Can the sofa be built to a custom width?
Yes — any width, arm profile, or cushion fill, including the in-between sizes catalogs don't make. It's sized to your bay or floor plan and confirmed on CAD shop drawings.
Will it fit through our doors and elevator?
We check that before production, not on install day — sectioned builds are engineered to pass your service elevator and door frames, confirmed on the drawings.
How much fabric does a sofa need in COM?
As a planning figure on 54-inch plain goods, a three-seat sofa runs about 10.5–14 yards and a two-seat settee 8–11. Exact yardage is confirmed on your shop drawings before the mill order.
Is it contract-grade?
Yes — hardwood frames and fills that meet California TB 117-2013, built for lobbies and public lounges rather than living rooms.
What is the lead time?
Standard lead time is 4–10 weeks from approved shop drawings or fabric receipt, plus freight from Los Angeles.
